TPC Twin Cities – Minneapolis, MN
Course Breakdown
Par 71, 7481 yds, designed by Arnold Palmer and Tom Lehman, altitude above sea level so shots will go farther than normal, was a birdiefest on the Sr. Tour (average winning score of -21) which will continue on the PGA, ton of water here with 27 water hazards (in play on 14 holes), 6 Par 4s over 450 yds, wide tree lined fairways, bunkers in the landing zones, trees aren’t bunched up with a lot of room between the trees and fairway, above average size greens, run off area only on the front of most greens, rough, bunkers and water surrounding the greens, pure bent grass greens (only Colonial and Augusta have had that so far this year), course should play soft since there’s been a lot of rain there, it’s gonna be a super easy birdie fest
Tournament Notes
First time TPC Twin Cities is hosting a PGA Tour event, formerly hosted the 3M Championship on the Champions Tour
Key Stats
SG Approach, Ballstriking, Birdie+ %
Field
Pretty garbage field besides Brooks and Day
One and Done: Viktor Hovland
Alternate: Joaquin Niemann
One and Done Considerations: Bryson, Day, Reed, Hovland, Niemann
Players
Niemann: 9300: +3300 – Has been playing good lately especially with his irons, coming off a T5 and 6 made cuts in a row, putter has been hot so hopefully that is sustained
Hovland: 9100: +2800 – Has been awesome since he became a pro, 2nd in SG T2G and 1st in SG OTT, 7th in Par 4 efficiency 450-500 yds, over last 12 rounds
Streel: 8900: +4000 – 1st in SG Approach, 8th in DK scoring and 2nd in GIR in last 24 rounds, dialed in with his irons, great ballstriking, this place being a birdie fest is a bit of a concern
Hadwin: 8100: +5000 – 16th in Birdie =%, 12th in DK pts, 3rd in ballstriking in last 24 rounds, putter hasn’t looked bad lately
DraftKings/Betting Notes
Skipping this week entirely beside One & Done. All the prices on the guys I like aren’t even close to worth betting. DK is a lottery ticket this week with this field on an easy, new course
