College Football Playoff Preview 2019

It’s finally here, the College Football Playoff is today and I for one, cannot wait till these games kick off!

Peach Bowl – LSU (1) vs. Oklahoma (4)

LSU has had a hell of an undefeated season. Best resume in college football. Three wins against Top 10 (at the time) teams, playing in the best conference in college football. Joe Burrow stunned America after transferring to Baton Rouge from OSU and was the easy no doubt Heisman. Coach Ed Orgeron takes his team into the College Football Playoff against Oklahoma and I think LSU train rolls the Sooners. Oklahoma even with Heisman runner up Jalen Hurts isn’t going to be able to score enough against LSU to be able to keep up with Burrow and LSU’s offense going against Oklahoma’s dog shit defense. The entire Big 12 doesn’t play defense and Oklahoma is no exception to that. I think LSU easily covers the 14 pt spread and walks right into their deserved spot in the National Championship. I’d lean the over too since I do think Oklahoma is able to score a couple times and Burrow and LSU’s offense will have no problems scoring the whole game, but I personally won’t be betting it at 75.5. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Pick: LSU -14 (2 units)

Fiesta Bowl – Ohio State (2) vs. Clemson (3)

The much more interesting game of today’s Playoffs is the Fiesta Bowl where undefeated Ohio State meets undefeated Clemson. At times this year, Ohio State has looked unstoppable. Under new head coach Ryan Day, their high powered offense has scored like a million points a game with a great QB in Justin Fields and one of the best RBs in the country in JK Dobbins and their defense has also been great, led by the best defensive player in college football and a generational talent, Chase Young. The last few weeks of the season though against Michigan, Penn State and in the Big Ten Championship against Wisconsin, Ohio State has showed some of their flaws. Clemson on the other hand, have quietly had a great season and have really showed no flaws, even though they play in the very weak ACC. Outside of Clemson, the ACC was easily the worst Power Five conference but that doesn’t discredit what Clemson was able to do. Blowing teams out every week. Dabo Swinney is easily the best coach in college football not named Nick Saban and quarterback Trevor Lawrence is a generational talent who is without a doubt next year’s #1 overall pick in the NFL draft. Clemson’s the defending National Champions and winners twice the last three years. Their my pick to win it all again this year in their fifth straight playoff appearance. I think they beat Ohio State tonight and cover the 2.5 so I’d lean Clemson -2.5 or even Clemson moneyline at -140 but won’t be betting it since Ohio State has been a powerhouse all year and it wouldn’t shock me if they pull off the upset. I see this being a pretty close game that Clemson ends up winning that will be a lot of fun to watch.
