The NHL had a huge slate of 13 games yesterday. Even with the huge slate, I only liked betting two teams, Nashville and Dallas. Both games ended up winning in overtime, although I lost on Dallas in regulation and puck line, but cashed both money lines for a slight profit. The NHL once again today can’t figure out how to stay out of their own way with scheduling and only have two games today and can’t even get the times of them right with them both starting a half hour from each other. You’d think that with only two games they’d make them at 7 and 10 so that people could watch both. I do like both games tonight and here’s my breakdowns and picks of each.
Predators vs. Blackhawks (7:30)
The Blackhawks have a lousy defense and bad goaltending. Last night when these teams played each other, Nashville poured it out and had almost double the shots on goal than the Hawks did (39-20), but Malcolm Subban had a great game and it took until an awesome goal from Roman Josi to win it for the Preds in overtime. Tonight I think the Preds get another win and it should come easier than it did last night, plus Nashville should be starting Juuse Saros instead of Rinne, which should be another small boost. I’m going back to the Predators ML tonight for a unit.
Canucks vs. Senators (8:00)
On Monday, on the only game of the night, Vancouver shit pumped the Sens 7-1, covering the over 6.5 for a win in the third period. The Canucks are crushing overs this season and the over is now 7-1 in their games. The Senators have gone over 6.5 in four of their six games this year (5 total goals in the other two). Historically going back over the past two seasons, the overs between these two teams are 7-0 since the 2019 season. I’m going back to the over here for a unit.
1u Nashville ML (-180)
1u Vancouver/Ottawa over 6.5 (-110)
Record: 32-31 (-8.81 units)
