Last night on a six game NHL slate, I had an awesome night going 3-0 for a clean sweep off easy Tampa and Montreal wins and a come from behind sweat from the Bruins, scoring 5 unanswered to beat the Caps. Tonight we have an eight game slate to keep the winning going to add to the 8-3 run over the last three days! Lot of action tonight!
Blue Jackets vs. Stars (7:00)
The Dallas Stars are coming off back to back losses to the Carolina Hurricanes. I thought Dallas was going to win both of these games, but I think both losses (one in overtime) are more based on Carolina being good rather than Dallas being bad. Columbus split their games with Chicago, winning by a goal in one game and losing in the other. Tonight, Jake Oettinger is confirmed in goal for Dallas so I’m laying off this game.
Canadiens vs. Canucks (7:00)
Montreal is a wagon this season. Last night they scored at will on the Canucks winning 6-2 and outshooting them 40-29. Tonight Jake Allen is projected to be in net for Montreal so I’d don’t trust them as much, but I do think both teams can score tonight so I’m going to take the over here for half a unit. All four games between these two teams this year has gone over and I’d expect that to continue.
Blackhawks vs. Hurricanes (8:00)
The Hurricanes have played amazing so far to start the season, most recently coming off back to back wins against last year’s Western Conference Champions in Dallas. Tonight they play one of the worst teams in hockey. Although their last few games Chicago’s defense and goaltending has looked better, they don’t match up with Carolina. I’m taking Carolina tonight and since there’s value in the puck line tonight I’ll take them for a half unit each on the ML, puck line and regulation line.
Blues vs. Coyotes (8:00)
The Blues have looked fantastic so far this year. On Sunday night I laid off betting the Blues since their backup goalie was in goal. This turned out to not matter as the Blues still won in dominant fashion against the Ducks. Tonight with Jordan Binnington confirmed back in goal they play Arizona, who I think isn’t as bad of a team as their record shows but not as good as St. Louis. I’m on the Blues ML for half a unit.
Jets vs. Flames (8:00)
Last night in this matchup, the Flames won 4-3 in a shootout on a sick goal from Johnny Ham and Cheese. Tonight on the back of a back to back, both backup goalies are in goal so both teams should score. I’ll take the over for half a unit.
Avalanche vs. Wild (8:30)
After a few shaky games to start the year, the Avs seem to have figured it out and are winning again. The first game between these two teams Colorado won dominantly 5-1 before losing their second game 4-3 in overtime with their backup goalie in net. Nathan MacKinnon, one of the best hockey players in the world is out with injury but even with him out, I still think Colorado wins this one. Tonight Grubauer’s confirmed in goal so I’m back on the Avs to bounce back with a half unit on the ML.
Oilers vs. Senators (10:00)
Sunday night with their backup goalie in net, the Oilers beat the Senators 8-5. At one point this game was 8-3 and Edmonton let their foot off the gas, allowing two Sens goals in the 3rd period. Tonight Koskinen is back in goal for Edmonton and they should win again pretty easily tonight. I think the price is too high on the ML here and there’s no value in the puck line so I’m going with Edmonton in regulation for half a unit as well as the over for half a unit. I’d expect Ottawa to score a few goals and Edmonton to score a lot. Ottawa’s BAD.
Kings vs. Ducks (10:00)
Both of these California teams sort of suck. This game could go either way, so I’m staying off of it.
