Easy two unit winner yesterday on the Penguins/Capitals over as it hit before the 2nd period ended in the early game where the Pens went on to win 6-3. Then at night, Vegas beat Colorado 1-0 in a great game that I’m glad I didn’t bet on. There’s a big slate of games today and one early at 4 today for President’s Day. Let’s get some wins!
Coyotes vs. Blues (4:00)
Today’s now the seventh game in a row between these two teams. The over is 4-2 in these matchups and I’d expect that to continue, so I’m taking the over here for a unit.
Sabres vs. Islanders (7:00)
The Sabres are playing their first game tonight in the month of February after they had issues with coronavirus stemmed from their games against the Devils (who still aren’t back to playing hockey yet). I think the Isles are the better team here and are coming in hot with 3 wins in their last 4 games. I’m laying off this one.
Maple Leafs vs. Senators (7:00)
This matchup’s between the top team in the North vs. the worst team in the North. Ottawa’s bad and got lucky to win their last game in a 2-1 win over the Jets. The Leafs split their two games with the Sens at the beginning of the season but I don’t expect Toronto to have any issues with getting a win today. The price on this game is expensive every way you look at it, so I’m going with 1.5 units on the Leafs in regulation.
Hurricanes vs. Blue Jackets (7:00)
Carolina’s good and although the Jackets have shown some bright spots, I think the Canes win this one today. In two games this season, these teams split with Carolina winning 6-5 and then Columbus winning 4-3. I’ll take Carolina ML for half a unit.
Lightning vs. Panthers (7:00)
These cross state rivals have had the tale of two tapes in their last two games. First Florida beat Tampa 5-2 and then Tampa answered back and won 6-1. I think Tampa’s the better team here and I’m gonna take the Bolts for half a unit.
Red Wings vs. Blackhawks (7:30)
Going into the year, I thought these would be the worst two teams in hockey. The Blackhawks found goaltending and are now far exceeding those expectations. In their two matchups this year, the Hawks beat Detroit 4-1 and 6-2. Even though they don’t win, Detroit hangs around in games with decent defense. I’ll take the Blackhawks ML for half a unit.
Stars vs. Predators (8:30)
Both of these teams have been disappointing and not great this year. In their two matchups at the beginning of the season, Dallas won both games first 7-0 in their delayed first game of the season and then 3-2 the next night. Dallas has lost their last five straight and I don’t really see much changing there. I’m laying off this game cause I don’t trust betting Nashville.
Oilers vs. Jets (9:00)
This season these team split their two games between each other. Oilers won the first one 4-3 and then the Jets won 6-4. I’d slightly lean the Oilers here but not enough to bet anything on this game.
Canucks vs. Flames (10:00)
Before their game on Saturday night, Vancouver’s was on a six game losing streak and were are 0-3 this year against Calgary, all multi goal losses. But on Saturday, the Canucks outmatched the Flames to win 3-1 and significantly outshot them 46-19. I think Calgary bounces back and wins tonight but I’m not going to push it and bet this one. Might be a good place to look to live bet after seeing how the game starts.
Sharks vs. Ducks (10:30)
These two crappy Cali teams have had two pretty good games between each other this season with the Sharks first winning earlier this month 5-4 in a shootout and again a shootout was needed for the Ducks win 2-1 the following night. I’m staying off this game.
1u Blues/Coyotes over 5.5 (+100)
1.5u Leafs in regulation (-210)
.5u Carolina ML (-180)
.5u Tampa ML (-170)
.5u Blackhawks ML (-130)
Record: 77-65 (-9.23 units)
