Won an easy unit last night on a sort of lousy slate with Edmonton blowing out Ottawa last night. There’s a ton of games today so let’s keep rolling and try to go three winning days in a row!
Bruins vs. Rangers (1:00)
After Thursday night’s 4-0 shutout win for the Bruins, they’re now 4-1 on the season against the struggling Rangers. All four wins stayed under and the loss went over. I’m on the Bruins ML again for a unit here. I also don’t mind the under or Bruins in regulation but I’d rather lay the extra 70 in juice on the ML over the -130 on the regulation line.
Blue Jackets vs. Stars (5:00)
In the four games between these two teams, they split those games with two wins each. I’d lean Dallas here just from a talent standpoint, but the OU of 5 doesn’t make any sense to me. In the four games between these teams this year, over 5 is 2-0-2. I feel like with the books hanging that low number, you have to take that. Neither of these teams have been that good on either side of the puck this year but both should be able to score at least two goals. Half a unit on the over.
Sabres vs. Penguins (7:00)
Fading my Sabres has been the most profitable bet of this season. Now Jack Eichel’s out for the “foreseeable future”. I’m back on the Penguins solely as a fade of the Sabres for 2 units.
Devis vs. Islanders (7:00)
The Islanders are sitting at the top of the East with seven straight wins and nine in their last ten. The Devils suck and most recently, the Isles beat them 5-3 on Thursday night (which I lost the under on). Prior to Thursday’s game, the three matchups this season between these two teams before that have stayed under and the under is 9-4 in their last 13 games since January 2018. Neither team is scoring much with the Devils 27th in the NHL in goals for/game and the Isles are 14th. The Islanders are very good defensively and 2nd in goals allowed per game. I’m just going with the Isles ML for a unit.
Flyers vs. Capitals (7:00)
On Thursday night, the Capitals took a 2-1 lead on the season series between these two teams with a 5-3 win. I think these teams match up pretty well. I’d lean the over here but I’m not betting this game.
Lightning vs. Predators (7:00)
In their last game, Tampa took a shocking 6-4 loss to the Detroit Red Wings as over a -300 favorite. Just goes to show that on any given night, one of the worst teams in hockey can beat one of the best teams. Glad I stayed off that game. In four games against a lousy Nashville team this season, the Bolts are 4-0. I’m on Tampa in regulation to bounce back with a win tonight for a unit.
Panthers vs. Blackhawks (7:00)
Both of these teams have overachieved on expectations for them going into the season. I’d lean the Panthers on this first matchup this season of these two teams but not enough to bet it.
Maple Leafs vs. Jets (7:00)
The Leafs broke their three game losing streak with a 4-3 overtime winner from Austin Matthews against the Jets on Thursday night. This season they’re 2-1 against Winnipeg. I’d lean the Leafs again tonight but at -210, I don’t think they’re worth betting.
Flames vs. Canadiens (7:00)
When these teams played for the third time this season, Calgary won 2-1. Both these teams have had their struggles and fired their coaches this year. I don’t have any lean on this game and I’m definitely not betting it.
Blues vs. Golden Knights (8:00)
Last night I stayed off Vegas/Blues since I thought Fleury was out and in the COVID protocol with Lehner already injured, but that turned out to be a false positive and he was between the pipes. The Knights went on to win 5-4 in overtime. With both backups likely starting tonight I’m staying off this one. I’d lean Vegas and the over.
Canucks vs. Oilers (10:00)
In two games this season, Edmonton won 4-3 and 3-0 against the Canucks. The Oilers played last night giving me an easy 6-2 win against Ottawa, but on the second half of a back to back against a Vancouver team that’s fresh, I’m not betting this game. I’d expect Edmonton wins and its a good price, there’s just other games I would rather bet.
Ducks vs. Sharks (10:00)
The Sharks blew out the Ducks last night with a 6-0 win as Devin Dubnyk got a 34 save shutout. I do lean SJ again tonight but this isn’t a game I want anything to do with betting on.
