NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 3/22/21

Yesterday my winning streak came to an end going to 2-2 (-3.54u) splitting the Pittsburgh game with their OT loss and easy win on the under, winning easy on Tampa over and a rare big loss on Vegas. Back at it today with a loaded NHL slate.

Rangers vs. Sabres (7:00)

After their scheduled game on Saturday was postponed, the Sabres are back on the ice tonight against the Rangers. After the Sabres won the first matchup of the season between them, the Rangers won the last two and all three games was decided by a 3-2 score. The Sabres are without question the worst team in hockey and the Rangers have improved over how they started the year. I’m going with a unit on the Rangers ML and a unit on the Rangers in regulation to continue the reliable Buffalo fade.

Blue Jackets vs. Hurricanes (7:00)

After their eight game win streak, Carolina’s gone onto three straight losses, most recently two straight losses to Columbus that needed more than 60 minutes. I’m banking on them to win in this one. I can’t see them giving up three straight to the same team that they’re much better than. Carolina ML for a unit.

Canadiens vs. Oilers (7:00) POSTPONED

Tonight the Oilers have the chance to take sole first place in the North division with a win over an inconsistent Montreal team. The line on this game doesn’t make any sense to me, as I think the Oilers should be a favorite on the road in this one. I’m treading a little carefully here and going with Edmonton for half a unit.

Senators vs. Flames (7:00)

Calgary’s been much better since hiring Darryl Sutter with four wins in their last six games. Ottawa on the other hand has one win in their last six games. On the season, the Sens are 3-2 against the Flames and two of those wins were blowouts. I think Calgary wins here and considered betting it, but I just don’t think its worth the-185. If I was forcing it, I’d probably take Calgary for half a unit.

Flyers vs. Islanders (7:00)

The Islanders are tied with the Caps for first place in the East. Although Philly’s been inconsistent this year, they’ve had the Isles number and won 3 of the 4 games between them this season. I’d lean the Islanders here but not enough to bet on them.

Wild vs. Ducks (7:30)

Minnesota’s played very good team hockey this season, which surprised me. The Ducks are shit though, with only three wins in their last 17 games. After a 1-0 loss in the first matchup between them this season, the Wild are 3-0 since then against Anaheim. I’ll take the Wild for half a unit each on the ML and the regulation line to save a bit of juice.

Canucks vs. Jets (10:00)

After starting the season pretty horribly, Vancouver’s been climbing the North standings recently with seven wins in their last ten. This season these teams have matched up well and the Jets are 3-2 against the Canucks. These teams tend to trend under when they play but the under is now 3-2 this season, so that trend may be ending this year with shaky goaltending on both sides of this matchup. I’d lean the over here but I’m skipping the game.

Coyotes vs. Avalanche (10:00)

Since getting completely healthy, the Avs have been on fire recently with dominating wins in their last six games. Arizona hasn’t been very good at all this season and I’d expect the Avs to skate circles around them tonight. With Grubauer confirmed in goal, I’ll take Colorado for half a unit each on the ML and in regulation.

Golden Knights vs. Blues (10:00)

Vegas to a shitty loss to the Kings last night on the front of a back to back, losing me a decent amount as their five game win streak came to an end. I don’t expect them to lose two straight going against an inconsistent Blues team at home tonight. Vegas is 2-0 this season against St. Louis and all three games have been high scoring. I’ll take Vegas to bounce back for a unit.

Sharks vs. Kings (10:00)

Although the Kings showed a sign of life during part of this season, both of these Cali teams haven’t been good. These teams have split their two games this season with a 4-3 shootout win for SJ and then a 6-2 win for LA. I’d lean the Kings here but not enough to bet them so I’m skipping this game.
