NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 3/30/21

Another winning night yesterday, I went 5-1 for +2.8 units, with the only loss coming in the eighth round of a shootout in the Min/SJ late game. Can’t be too mad though as the Flyers came back from the dead as the Sabres blew a 3-0 lead in the third period and tied the all time NHL record with their 18th straight loss as the Flyers won 4-3 in overtime. Tonight there’s another seven game slate to get me to complete the comeback to get me back to even on the season.

Bruins vs. Devils (7:00)

On Sunday night I got an easy double winner as the Devils got their fourth win in five games against the Devils 1-0 and easily hit the under as well. For as much of a better team the Bruins are than NJ, the Devils have them figured out and the under is 5-0 this season in games between these teams. I’m going right back to the under here for 2 units, the Devils +1.5 for a unit (which is also 5-0 this season) and the Devils ML for a half unit stab.

Rangers vs. Capitals (7:00)

In their last game on Sunday, the Capitals got out to 4-0 lead before the Rangers turned it into a game and the Caps went on to win 5-4. Prior to that, the Rangers were 3-1 against the Caps this year. The Rangers are somehow favored tonight here in a pick em. If they were the dog I would’ve loved to take the +1.5 on them but I can’t bet against Washington here on a 9-1 stretch in their last ten games.

Lightning vs. Blue Jackets (7:00)

Tampa’s by far a better team this year than Columbus. Tampa’s coming off back to back 4-3 losses to Carolina and Dallas. I think this is a good spot for Tampa to end that skid and get back in the win column. I’ll take a unit each on Tampa ML and regulation line to cut down some juice.

Panthers vs. Red Wings (7:00)

Florida’s having a fantastic season this year. The Red Wings on the other hand are one of the worst teams in hockey. But they’re feisty and coming off back to back wins against Dallas. This season Florida’s 4-2 against Detroit but besides the 7-2 Florida win on 2/19, the Red Wings were close in the other three losses. I’m not thinking too much into this one and just taking Florida for half a unit.

Canadiens vs. Oilers (7:00)

After the first coronavirus issues to hit the NHL in Canada this year, tonight’s the first game for the Habs in 10 days. This season Montreal’s 2-1 against the Oilers this season and all three games these teams have played were lopsided. With the Oilers coming off four wins in their last five games I’d lean them to win. But the uncertainty on how teams come off coronavirus breaks and the line on this one feeling like a trap (which I do sort of think trap games are a bullshit concept), I’ll skip this game entirely.

Blackhawks vs. Hurricanes (7:30)

I think that Carolina’s the better team here but Chicago’s over exceeding this year. These teams have played three great games this year, with Carolina winning two of them and all three going over. I’d lean Carolina here to win, but instead I’m going to take the over for half a unit.

Predators vs. Stars (8:00)

Both these teams have sucked this season but the Preds are on a warpath with a five game win streak and seven wins in their last eight games to bring this team back from the dead and put them in the final playoff spot in the Central playoff race. Dallas won the first two games these teams played to open the season for the Stars but Nashville’s won the last two 4-3 in shootouts. I’m not betting against Nashville here but I don’t really have any interest on betting on them either.
