NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 4/2/21

I got back on track with how I was seeing the board last night but got fucked over on my Rangers in regulation bet as the Sabres pointlessly forced overtime with 4 seconds left to lose again. Back at it today to start the comeback, again.

Devils vs. Capitals (7:00)

The Capitals have crushed the Devils six times in six games this season and are the much better team in this matchup, most recently winning 4-0 last week. The Devils have kept it close though with four of those six games being decided by just a goal (two of them needed extra time). The Caps are coming off two losses to the Islanders last night and the Rangers the game before so I think they bounce back with a good win today. Caps moneyline for half a unit.

Jets vs. Maple Leafs (8:00)

Toronto seems to have figured out whatever was the problem and have won four of their last five games. The Leafs are 3-2 against the Jets this season and I’d lean them to win again tonight, but not enough to bet on it. The over has hit in 16 of last 21 games between these teams and 3 of the 5 games this season. I’ll take the over here for half a unit.

Oilers vs. Flames (9:00)

The Battle of Alberta. Edmonton’s the better team in Alberta this season and they’re 4-2 against the Flames this year. The over has also hit in four of those games. I’d lean Edmonton and the over again here today but I’m not betting on either. Too many uncertainties when the puck drops between these rivals.

Avalanche vs. Blues (9:00)

Colorado looks unbeatable now that they’re completely healthy, which is why I put in a future this week on the Avs to win the Cup. Whoever wins the West out of Colorado and Vegas, I think goes onto win the Cup. So now I have futures on both of them. Tonight the Avs are giving Grubauer the night off and Jonas Johannson, who should probably be in the AHL is getting the nod in goal. The Blues have been the most underperforming team in hockey this year and are coming into this game on a four game losing streak. I think the Avs should still win despite Johannson being in net vs. Binnington, but I don’t really want to bet on it at this price. So I’ll skip betting the Avs this game. Both of these teams have trended over with Colorado scoring a ton of goals so with Johannson in goal for them, I think the Blues score a few too. I’ll take the over for half a unit.

Ducks vs. Coyotes (10:00)

These teams both suck this year. Anthony Stolarz is starting for the Ducks and Adin Hill for the Yotes. I’d lean the Coyotes in this shitty game and the over just because of the goalies. Arizona’s 4-2 against the Ducks this year and I’d expect that to continue. I just don’t trust the Coyotes enough to bet on this game.

Kings vs. Sharks (10:00)

Neither of these teams is going to make the playoffs. I think LA’s slightly better but SJ is 3-1 against the Kings this year. Skipping this game entirely.
