NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 4/15/21

Swept the board last night going 9-0 on only two games (the Wild and Vegas) for +6.88 units. Huge NHL slate tonight to keep making money!

Capitals vs. Sabres (7:00)

The Sabres are surprisingly playing decent lately. Even their losses aren’t as awful as you’d expect. The Caps are the way better team though and although they may stick around a bit, I wouldn’t expect the Sabres to beat the Caps, especially with Tokarski in goal for the Sabres. The ML is way too expensive on the Caps so I’ll take a unit each on the Caps in regulation and the Caps team total over 3.5.

Bruins vs. Islanders (7:00)

Tuukka Rask is back in goal for the Bruins tonight for the first time since March 7th. This could be a playoff matchup in the East and this season the Isles are 5-0 against the Bruins. The Islanders are the better team here and there’s a great price here on them on the road in Boston. I’ll take the dog here for a unit and if it loses there’s no juice. I don’t love any games enough to parlay tonight but wouldn’t hate the +1.5 on the Islanders as a parlay piece if I was.

Rangers vs. Devils (7:00)

I had the over in the Rangers/Devils game on Tuesday night, which was 4-0 into that matchup and it never had a chance as the Rangers went on to win 3-0. I’ll take the Rangers ML here for half a unit.

Hurricanes vs. Predators (7:00)

The Preds are still rolling and are one of the hottest teams in hockey the past month. This season Carolina’s been very good and they’re 4-0 against the Preds. I think that trend ends tonight and Nashville wins this one. This should be a great game and I’m not betting on it.

Lightning vs. Panthers (7:00)

Florida, Tampa and Carolina are in a three way tie for 1st place in a tight race in the Central. This season these two teams in the state of Florida are 2-2 against each other. Tampa’s coming off a big 7-3 loss to Nashville on Tuesday and I think they bounce back in this game today. Not betting it though.

Penguins vs. Flyers (7:00)

The Flyers fucking suck. Pittsburgh’s pretty much locked into the playoffs. Philly leads this state of Pennsylvania rivalry 3-2 this season. I think the Penguins tie this up with a win tonight and I’ll take the Penguins ML for 2 units.

Maple Leafs vs. Jets (7:00)

Fuck hockey in Canada this season. Can’t get a bet on any team in that division right since they all suck. On Tuesday both of these teams lost to dig me a hole that I needed to dig out of with the rest of the slate. The Leafs should beat Winnipeg here but I have zero faith in betting it. I’ll skip this game, and I’d lean the over.

Red Wings vs. Blackhawks (7:30)

Going into this season, I expected these two teams to be at the bottom of the Central. Chicago’s overachieved this season but are still out of the playoffs. The Hawks are 5-1 this season against the Red Wings and should continue that with another win tonight. Detroit hasn’t played bad though, with back to back wins as huge dogs against the Hurricanes and a win against Tampa in their last 5 games (both losses came to Nashville, one in a shootout). If I wanted to force this game I’d take the Blackhawks but sometime’s the best bet on a game is no bet at all. Skipping this one.

Stars vs. Blue Jackets (8:30)

Both these teams blow this year. Somehow Dallas is a -180 favorite at home tonight, despite the season series between these teams tied at 3-3. I’d lean Dallas wins this one but that price is garbage. If anything I’d almost rather take a stab at Columbus for the + money but I’d rather just skip this game in general.
