Last night Vegas came through nicely again to get me a 3.5 unit winning night, going 3-1. Today there’s a ton of NHL games spread throughout the day. Let’s crush it!
Rangers vs. Devils (12:30)
Games start early today with the puck dropping at 12:30 on the Rangers/Devils seventh game of the season. The Rangers are 4-2 this year against NJ and they’ve won the last two in shutouts. I’m going back to the Rangers in this one with a unit on the ML, a unit in regulation, a unit parlay with the Capitals and a half unit parlay with the Capitals and Penguins. I’d lean the under in this one too.
Flyers vs. Capitals (12:30)
I think the Caps are the best team in the East. They’re coming off a shitty loss to the Sabres and the Flyers are coming off a 2-1 shootout win against the Penguins. I think the script flips on this matchup and the Capitals shit pump Philly. In addition to the parlays, I’ll take the Caps ML for 2 units and the puck line for half a unit. I’d lean the Caps TT over 3.5 and the over here too but I’m not betting those.
Sabres vs. Penguins (3:00)
The Sabres are coming off a big win against the Capitals where Dustin Tokarski got his first win in like 6 years. Even though the Sabres have been playing good since Krueger got fired, I don’t anticipate that happening in back to back games. Especially not against the Penguins who are 4-0 against Buffalo this year and have won all of those games by at least 3 goals. I’ll take the Pens in regulation for 2 units. I would bet the puck line too but I have a little rule for myself that I don’t take puck lines that aren’t + money.
Canadiens vs. Senators (4:00)
These teams have both had their problems throughout the year in the shitty North Division. I think the Habs are the better team in this game by a decent amount but Ottawa’s 4-3 against Montreal this year. I’d lean that the Canadiens win this one, but I’m not betting on them.
Coyotes vs. Blues (6:00)
After playing a really bad stretch of hockey, the Blues seem to have figured it out their last 4 games on both ends of the ice. I’ll take the Blues for half a unit tonight to tie up the season series at 4 wins each between them and the shitty Yotes.
Hurricanes vs. Predators (7:00)
The Preds are still on fire with a 13-4 record in their last 17 games and are right there with Colorado and Vegas as the hottest team in hockey right now. Carolina’s very good too though and they’re 5-0 against Nashville this year including a 4-1 win in their last game on Thursday night. I’ll skip on this game. I’d expect the Preds to at least keep it closer than they did on Thursday.
Lightning vs. Panthers (7:00)
The two Florida teams are in a battle for the top of the Central Division. This season Tampa is 3-2 against the Panthers. Florida’s been on a shitty stretch, going 1-4 in their last 5 games. I’d lean the Bolts here but I like betting the over on this one better for a unit, which is 4-1 in the 5 games between these teams this year (the one that didn’t go over was Tampa’s 3-2 overtime win on Thursday night.
Red Wings vs. Blackhawks (7:00)
I’m glad I stayed off the Hawks on Thursday night where Detroit won 4-1. I think Chicago bounces back here with a win to end the season 6-2 against the Red Wings. I’ll take the Hawks for half a unit.
Jets vs. Oilers (7:00)
This should be a good game between these two North Division playoff teams. This season, the Oilers are 4-2 against the Jets, but I think Winnipeg is the more complete team here and the Jets are the hotter team recently with five wins in their last six games. I’d lean Winnipeg here, but I’m not betting this one.
Wild vs. Sharks (8:00)
Despite there being a big difference in these two teams seasons, their season series is tied at 3 after the Wild’s 3-2 win yesterday over the Sharks. The Wild are the better team here and although I scared myself off of betting them yesterday, I am betting them today. I’ll take Minnesota for a unit in regulation.
Stars vs. Blue Jackets (8:00)
I have zero interest in this game. I think Dallas, who’s 4-3 against Columbus wins it at home but I’m not betting on it cause both these teams suck this year.
