Another nice night in a row last night, going 5-2 for +3.3 units. The two losses came on the Caps TT over which I was fine with and Dallas. Dallas was a stupid bet, I normally don’t bet on shitty teams and did on that one just based on matchup which turned out to not work. Still a good night though. On to today with only five Friday night NHL games.
Sabres vs. Bruins (7:00)
The future could start tonight for the Sabres goaltending as Ukka-Pekka Luukkonen is starting in his first NHL game tonight. The Bruins have crushed the Sabres this season and they’re 5-0 against Buffalo this season, the price is so expensive here at -360 and even expensive in regulation at -220. As a fan I’m going to skip this game and lean the under. I do expect the Bruins end up winning it though.
Rangers vs. Flyers (7:00)
These two teams have been competitive this year with the Flyers leading the season series between these teams at 4-3 with some awesome games between them. Tonight the Flyers are starting third string goalie Alex Lyon tonight, who’s 0-1-0 with a 4.44 GAA and .88 save percentage. I’ll take the Rangers here for a unit and Rangers team total over 3.5 for half a unit.
Blackhawks vs. Predators (8:00)
Prior to Wednesday night’s game between these two teams, Nashville was 5-0 against Chicago on the season. It looked like they were going to make that 6-0 on Wednesday night as they had a 4-1 lead going into the third period. Then in the span of three minutes, they let the Hawks back into it and gave up three quick goals to tie the game before the Blackhawks took the game in an overtime win. With Subban in goal again, I think the Preds bounce back on this one. I’ll take a unit on Nashville ML and a half unit on the puck line. With the team total for Nashville at 2.5, I’ll take that for a unit as well, which they’ve covered in six of the seven games they played against Chicago including the loss on Wednesday.
Flames vs. Canadiens (9:00)
I think Montreal’s the better team in this matchup this season, but Calgary is 4-2 against them on the year. The under in those 6 games is 5-1 and the one that when over was in the first matchup of the season. I’ll take under 5.5 for half a unit and the alternate line of under 6 for half a unit.
Kings vs. Wild (10:00)
The Wild are the much better team here and have been my cash cow this past week hitting them every way possible. They’re 5-2 this season against LA but the Kings have stayed close against them with three of those wins coming in overtime. I’ll take the Wild ML for a unit. I don’t hate the +320 three way draw line here, but I’m not betting it.
