A Town’s printing winners over here as my run continued last night with a 6-1-1 night winning 4.86 more units. The only loss and push came on the Montreal/Calgary game with 7.9 seconds left on a shitty empty net goal. But with the way the first period and second period of that game went, I’m fine with that 1.56 unit swing. Hockey in Canada really does suck this year. Toronto’s the only team I think has a chance of winning the North Division and no way those assholes win the Cup. But whatever. Huge slate of NHL games today, lets fucking crush it.
Penguins vs. Devils (12:30)
The day kicks off with the most lopsided game on the board at 12:30 (realistically 12:45-12:50ish). The Penguins have dominated the Devils, who are playing the worst hockey in the NHL right now. With such a huge line on this game, I’m going with two units on the Penguins in regulation, a unit on the Pens TT over 3.5, as well as a one unit parlay on the Pens, Avs and Golden Knights.
Blues vs. Avalanche (3:00)
The Avs are the best team in hockey and just clinched their place in the playoffs on Thursday night with their win over the Blues for their fifth win in six games this season against them. Even without Grubauer I still think Colorado gets the win again. This team looks unstoppable. In addition to the parlay with the Penguins and Vegas, I’ll take the Avs ML for a unit.
Islanders vs. Capitals (7:00)
I think both of these teams battling for first in the East are very good and could be cup contenders (as my futures on them suggest). This season there’s been a huge variety of results in the games between these teams including a double shutout with the Caps winning 1-0 in a shootout against the Isles on Thursday. I’d lean the Islanders bounce back here but I’m not betting this game at all. Should be a fun one to watch.
Panthers vs. Hurricanes (7:00)
These two teams are sitting at the top of the Central Division and are only separated by two points in the Central. The Canes have dominated Florida though this year and they’re 6-1 in the season series, covering the puck line in the last four games against then. I’ll take Carolina ML for a unit and a half and a half unit on the puck line.
Red Wings vs. Stars (7:00)
I broke my rule of not betting on shitty teams on Thursday night when I took the Stars against the Red Wings and these shit bags lost 7-3. This season Dallas is 5-2 against Detroit. They should win in this final game of the year between them but at -210, I’m not trusting the Stars to bet on them today. Skipping this game. I’d lean Dallas and the over.
Jets vs. Maple Leafs (7:00)
The Leafs finally broke their five game losing streak with a 5-3 win against the Jets on Thursday night. This season Toronto is 5-3 against Winnipeg. I’d slightly lean Toronto wins tonight, but not betting on this game at all.
Flames vs. Canadiens (7:00)
Going into last night’s game, under 5.5 was 5-1 between these two teams. After a fast start and quick pace of play in the first and second periods, it actually turned into a sweat as an empty netter with 7.9 seconds left in the game made it go over. Tonight the Habs are likely starting third string goalie Cayden Primeau for the first time this season with Jake Allen playing last night and Carey Price out with a concussion. With the uncertainty of Primeau in goal (who was 1-1 with a 2.52 GAA and .931 save percentage in his two starts last season), I’ll skip this game entirely.
Ducks vs. Golden Knights (9:00)
Vegas is first in the NHL and playing fantastic hockey, winning their last eight straight games. The Knights are 6-1 this season against the shitty Ducks. In addition to my parlay with Pitt and Colorado that hopefully is still alive going into this game, I’ll take Vegas in regulation for 2 units (the ML is way too expensive).
Sharks vs. Wild (9:00)
The Wild are a much better team than the Sharks and I’ve been rolling in money this past week on Minnesota, but they’ve struggled a bit against San Jose this season. The Wild are 4-3 against the Sharks this year and are coming into this game on a six game winning streak. I’ll take Minnesota for a unit.
Canucks vs. Senators (10:00)
Both of these teams blow this year and are sitting at the bottom of the North Division standings. Prior to Ottawa’s 3-0 win on Thursday night, the Canucks were 5-0 against them on the season. I’d think Vancouver bounces back with a win here tonight but not enough for me to want to bet on them. I’ll skip this game.
Kings vs. Coyotes (10:00)
Neither of these teams are good but with St. Louis’s struggles this season, Arizona’s currently sitting in the final playoff spot in the West. LA is 3-2 against the Yotes this season. I’d lean Arizona, who need all the points they can get, wins tonight but I’m not betting this late night game.
