Solid night yesterday, going 5-2 for +2.5 units! Probably should’ve just stayed off both games I lost but whatever, still a good night. Games start early at 5:30 tonight on this seven game NHL slate. Let’s crush this slate!
Senators vs. Canucks (5:30)
Earlier in the season, Vancouver was crushing Ottawa in the first three games they played, but its been much closer since then with Ottawa winning three of the three games between them this past week. The Canucks are the slightly better team here but the Sens are a pest and they’ve been hot lately winning five of their last seven games. Skipping this game entirely but I’d lean Vancouver.
Wild vs. Blues (7:00)
The Wild have been on fire recently, winning their last seven straight, covering the puck line in six of those games. The Blues and Wild have only played three times this season and St. Louis is 2-1 in those games. I’m gonna skip this game from a betting standpoint but I’d lean Minnesota beats the Blues to keep their winning streak going.
Canadiens vs. Maple Leafs (8:00)
The Leafs are the best team in Canada. Montreal should be able to hold onto their 4th spot in the North for the final playoff spot in that division. I’d lean Toronto here, who are 4-2 against the Habs this season but I don’t think its worth betting on most matchups in the North Division this season.
Jets vs. Oilers (9:00)
Both of these North Division teams are pretty much locked into a first round 2/3 seed playoff game. This season, the Oilers are 6-2 against the Jets and Winnipeg is coming into this game on a four game losing streak. I’ll make an exception to my avoiding bets on North Division teams guidance and take the McJesus and the Oilers ML for a unit here and the puck line for a half unit since thats hit in the last three games between these teams.
Golden Knights vs. Avalanche (9:30)
This game is sort of the preview of what could possibly be the best and my most anticipated series of the playoffs for the West Division Finals. With Grubauer still out for the Avs and in COVID protocol, Devan Dubnyk will get the start for Colorado in goal. Dubnyk isn’t good and when the Vegas offense is clicking, they’re scoring a lot. Vegas has won their last nine games and I think they break the 3-3 tie in the season series with a win tonight. I wanted the Vegas team total over since this morning when I first looked at this game but at 3.5, I’m staying off that since Vegas hasn’t scored four goals in any of the six games that they’ve played against the Avs. The under 6 is 5-1 in games between these teams this year too. With great goaltending on the Vegas side, shitty goaltending tonight for Colorado and a great offense for both teams, I’ll stay off the over/under in this game. I’ll take my Knights for a unit and a half here.
Kings vs. Ducks (10:00)
Both these teams suck and are sitting at the basement of the league. LA’s better than the Ducks and they should win tonight, but I want nothing to do with this game.
Sharks vs. Coyotes (10:30)
On Monday night, the late night game between these two teams was a disappointment for me as the Sharks got out to a 4-0 lead in the first 24 minutes of the game and then rode that to what turned into a fun game to a 6-4 San Jose win, breaking their eight game losing streak. The Yotes, despite having a sort of lousy season only find themselves one point back from the Blues (who have a pretty hard schedule to close out the year) for the final remaining playoff spot in the West. Josef Korenar (3.27 GAA, .882 save percentage) is confirmed in goal for the Sharks tonight and bouncing off the loss on Monday night, I’m all HAMMERING this game. I’ll take the Coyotes team total over 2.5 for 2 units, since they’ve scored at least four goals in all five games they’ve played against SJ this season. I’ll take the Coyotes ML for a unit, the over for a unit (which is 4-1 this season) and a half unit each on the Coyotes puck and regulation lines.
