Last night did not go well, all thanks to my biggest bet of the season against my own Buffalo Sabres and they won. So 4-5 on the night and I’m back to pretty much even on the season. Five game NHL slate tonight to run it back and get back in the profits!
Sabres vs. Islanders (7:00)
Last night, due to injuries, Michael Houser got his first career NHL start for the Sabres. He hadn’t played in any hockey game in over a year and through his career had only had 29 minutes above the ECHL level with two AHL appearance. This kid was great and made the difference last night allowing only 2 goals and had a .944 save percentage. Prior to last night’s 4-2 loss, the Isles were 6-0 against Buffalo on the season and 5-1 covering the puck line. I don’t expect the Isles to lose again tonight so I’m running it back with 2 units (not the full 4 that I did yesterday)
Devils vs. Bruins (7:00)
Last night the Bruins beat the Devils 3-0, pretty much the expected result of that game.
The Devils have been decent against the Bruins this year though, and after last night are 4-3 outright against Boston and 6-1 on the puck line. The Devils suck and although I’d lean Boston wins tonight and evens the season series but could see NJ keeping it close. I’ll just completely skip this game today.
Flyers vs. Penguins (7:00)
After last night’s 7-2 blowout loss for the Penguins by their in state rival Flyers, Pittsburgh’s now tied for first place in the East with the Capitals. The Flyers are the way worse team here, but Philly has had Pittsburgh’s number this season and are 5-2 this year against them. The over has hit in 6 of the 7 games these played this year and has come pretty easy in a lot of those games. I think the Penguins answer back with a win tonight after getting embarrassed last night to retake sole possession of first place in the East. Even though the over is 6.5 tonight, I’ll take the over for a unit here. I was going to buy it down to 6 but that’s not worth the extra 60 cents in juice tonight.
Hurricanes vs. Blackhawks (7:00)
Last night the Hurricanes cruised to a 5-2 win over the Blackhawks, giving Chicago their fifth straight loss and themselves a two point lead over Florida for first place in the Central. Tonight the Hawks are starting Collin Delia who’s 0-2 with a 4.03 GAA and .891 save percentage this season. Carolina’s 4-2 against Chicago this season and they should win again tonight. I’ll take Carolina in regulation for 2 units and Carolina TT over 3.5 for 2 units, which is 5-1 on the season against Chicago and I like it even better with Delia in goal.
Canucks vs. Oilers (10:00)
McDavid and his Oilers are getting hot at the perfect time with six wins in their last eight games and clinched their place in the playoffs with their 5-3 win over the Canucks last night. Edmonton’s 4-2 against Vancouver this season. I’d lean that the Oilers win this game and I’ll take the Oilers ML for a unit.
