NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 5/18/21

Great night yesterday going 3-0 for +5 units. The Bruins won a 4-3 overtime thriller as Brad Marchand scored 39 seconds into OT. Carolina got a big 5-2 win over Nashville. And the Avs were a fucking powerhouse getting 50 shots on goal and despite Jordan Binnington being amazing in goal, Colorado got a nice 4-1 win. Three more Game 2’s tonight and an additional regular season team in the North.

Canucks vs. Flames (4:00)

On Sunday night when these teams played their eighth game between them of the regular season, the Flames went into the third period with a 5-1 lead before allowing four goals in the third as the Canucks forced overtime before Elias Lindholm won it 6-5 for Calgary in overtime. On the season the Flames are 6-2 against Vancouver and I’d expect they win this one but with this game not mattering to either team as there’s playoff games going on and these teams are playing for nothing still in their regular season, I’m not betting this shit.

Game 2: Penguins vs. Islanders (7:30)

On Sunday afternoon in a very entertaining Game 1, the Penguins lost in overtime 4-3 on home ice in Pittsburgh. Both teams generated a ton of shots on goal win game 1 with the Pens outshooting the Isles 42-41. The Islanders really laid the lumber with 72 hits too, an insane amount. I think the Penguins bounce back at home here in Game 2 and even the series up. I’ll take the Pens ML for a unit.

Game 2: Panthers vs. Lightning (8:00)

Game 1 in the Battle of Florida on Sunday night was fucking incredible. The energy in the building was amazing and both teams were buzzing around the ice. Game 1 both teams matched up well trading blows back in forth with the game coming down to Brayden Point scoring the game winner with 1:14 left in the game. The Lightning getting Kucherov and Stamkos back for the playoffs made a big impact with Kuch scoring back to back goals in the second period, both from Stammer and Hedman. These guys are going to be a problem for Florida and if they get out of this round, whoever plays them next. I’m going with the over today for a unit, which hit early in the third period in Game 1 and was 6-2 in the regular season games between these teams this year. Both teams were hitting hard and there was 34 penalty minutes in Game 1. If these teams keep up this pace of play, that should generate a lot of power play opportunities in this series and that should lead to more scoring. I’d lean Tampa wins this game to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series before going back to Amalie Arena for Games 3 and 4. With how close Game 1 was, that Florida outscored Tampa 14-4 in the final three regular season games these teams played and with the energy the fans were bringing in Sunrise, FL on Sunday night I’m staying off betting the Bolts for this game.

Game 2: Golden Knights vs. Wild (10:00)

Sunday’s Game 1 between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Wild was a stunning display of goaltending where the first goal of the game came 3:20 into overtime as Joel Eriksson Ek scored the game winner to get the Wild a 1-0 win. Vegas poured on the shots and Cam Talbot dazzled with 42 saves. Marc Andre Fleury was just as impressive with some incredible saves. I don’t see Vegas losing Game 2 in the Fortress tonight and they should answer back and get enough shots in the back of the net to tie this series up tonight. I’ll take the Knights for a unit.
