NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 5/20/21

Last night the Edmonton Oilers losing Game 1 prevented me from having an insane 8.5 unit winning night, but still had a nice 3.3 unit profit night going 5-1 to continue my hot streak of 10-2 for +9.2 units over the last 3 days. Three Game 3’s tonight as well as Game 1 between Toronto and Montreal.

Game 3: Lightning vs. Panthers (6:30)

Tampa ran the show in an electric 5-4 win in Game 1 and then controlled play and won pretty easily in Game 2 of the Battle of Florida on the road to take a 2-0 series lead back to Tampa Bay for Game 3 tonight. I think after losing both of those games in their own barn to start the series, the Panthers are pretty much dead. On home ice tonight, I expect Tampa to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series lead by Kucherov and Stamkos and backstopped by Vezina finalist Andrei Vasilevskiy. This game’s a must win for Florida to keep the series going, but I just don’t see that happening. I’ll take Tampa ML for 1.5 units and the puck line for a half unit.

Game 3: Islanders vs. Penguins (7:00)

The Islanders got an overtime win in Game 1 of this series in Pittsburgh before the Penguins answered back in Game 2 to tie this series going to Long Island tonight. I think the Penguins are the better team here and with Evgeni Malkin back in the lineup for them tonight, I’d lean they win this game on the road to regain home ice in the series. I’m not betting this game individually since I’m pretty heavily on the Pens to win the series, so for this game I’ll just ride out my futures and hope for a Penguins win. I’d lean the over here too since its so low at only 5, but I’m not betting it.

Game 1: Maple Leafs vs. Canadiens (7:30)

Earlier today I broke down this whole series, I think the Leafs win this series. I don’t really trust them betting wise though because of how bad the entire North Division is for the price I’d have to lay to bet on them. I don’t mind the Leafs in regulation tonight, which hit in 6 of the 7 Leafs wins this season against Montreal but I’m just going to skip this game. If the Leafs start to roll through this series I’ll jump on betting them game by game.

Game 3: Wild vs. Golden Knights (9:30)

This series has been defense battles through two games with the stars of the show being Marc Andre Fleury and Cam Talbot who have both been spectacular in goal. Both teams have been able to shut down offensive scoring. This series is tied going into Game 3 in Minnesota with the Wild winning 1-0 in overtime in Game 1 and then Vegas answering back with a 3-1 win at home in Game 2. As this series shifts to the road for Vegas, the Golden Knights are looking for their first regulation win in Minnesota for their short franchise history. I think Vegas is the better team but the Wild scare me to bet against so I’ll lay off betting a side of this game. I will take the under for 1.5 units though, expecting this game to be another grind that hopefully hits with an easy low scoring win for Vegas.
