The Tampa Bay Lightning won the Central Division last night with a 2-0 win over Carolina, giving me a 3-0 +4.12 unit night hitting my series, ML and puck line bets on the Bolts. Then the Golden Knights came back from down 2-0 to win in overtime on an awesome goal from Mark Stone to take a 3-2 series lead on the road. Tonight the Bruins try to force Game 7 in the East!
Last night I said when the Golden Knights and Avalanche went to overtime that the winner of that game will go on to win the Stanley Cup. I’m putting my money behind that and adding another two units on Vegas to win the Cup, even at the lousy price of +185. I also added on four units on Tampa at +200 to win it, which partially hedges out that side of the bracket since I already have both teams from the East to win it all. I think there’s a lot of value to Vegas reaching the Final at -150 as well and going with two units on that. I expect either Vegas or Colorado will crush Montreal quickly and when this series ends I think that the price on either of those teams to beat the Habs will be much more expensive than -150, so risking three units there on Colorado not winning both Game 6 and a possible Game 7 is well worth it for me with how Vegas has played and that they have been the much better team in the series in Games 2-5.
Game 6: Islanders vs. Bruins (7:30)
In Game 5, with some lousy calls by the officials that lead to three Isles goals, the Islanders stole away the win with a 5-4 win while getting outshot 44-19 to take a 3-2 series lead on the road in Boston. I think the Bruins are the better team in this series and they were the better team in Game 5. Even though its going to be a tough game at what could possibly be the last ever at the Nassau Coliseum, I think the Bruins extend this series to Game 7 with a win tonight. I have 2 units on the Bruins to win the East and futures on both of these teams to win the series. I’m riding both of those tonight with no hedge, since I need the B’s to win tonight to keep those alive. I’ll also take the over 5 for a unit. Over 5 is 3-1-1 in this series and 3-3-2 in the games these teams played during the regular season. I’d expect this game to get to 2-2 at some point which would make the low over of 5 goals at least a push. Let’s Go Bruins!
