Last night the Vegas Golden Knights took a disappointing 4-1 loss at home to the Montreal Canadiens to go down 3-2 in the series and now the Habs are only a win away from the Stanley Cup Finals. I can’t figure out if this series is a just fluke and it’s just the right group of guys in Montreal and Carey Price catching on fire at the perfect time along with Vegas’s offense just slumping big time this series or if I was completely wrong about what divisions had the most talent this entire fucking year. I’m thinking that’s much closer to the former, but that’s the fun part of this one of a kind all division schedule this season but I’ll be glad to get to the old format next season. Last night I won my alternate under 5.5 but since I never expected Vegas to be facing elimination, lost my prop for Vegas to win in six games and now I’m sweating out the Knights to win it in 7.
Tonight could be the final game in the old barn, Nassau Coliseum for Game 6 with the Islanders facing elimination and Tampa looking for their second straight trip to the Cup Finals trying to defend the Stanley Cup.
Game 6: Islanders vs. Lightning (8:00)
In Game 5 on Monday night, the Lightning put up over a touchdown worth of goals in an 8-0 shutout to take a 3-2 series lead over the Islanders. I think even with the extra emotion of what could be the last game in the Coli, Tampa ends this series tonight. They’re the better team in this series and it’s going to be tough for the Isles to bounce back after the shit kicking they had Monday. I have a total of just 1.75 units risked to win 3.12 units if Tampa wins the series tonight so I’m going to let those both ride on the Bolts, which would cover the 1.8 of futures on the Islanders to win the Cup while still giving a 1.32 unit profit. Along with that, although I’ve leaned under on this whole series, I think in an elimination game tonight, both teams should be able to get at least five goals to push the over, so I’ll take the over for a unit.
