NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 10/15/21

Last night had some strange results in the NHL. I went 2-3 for -1.56 units. Tonight there’s only three games with some not very good matchups.

Devils vs. Blackhawks (7:00)

The NJ Devils made some big improvements in the offseason to bolster up there defense with the addition of Dougie Hamilton and Ryan Graves to complement their great young core of forwards. They should be able to see some solid improvements this season. The Blackhawks got better in the offseason as well. I don’t think going up against the power house Avalanche in their season opening 4-2 loss really was that indicative of how the Hawks season is going to go. I’d expect this to be a pretty good and competitive game and on value alone would lean the Devils at home, but not enough to bet on them tonight.

Flyers vs. Canucks (7:00)

The Flyers had high expectations last season and they disappointed a lot of people. This team has some great pieces and a young goaltender in Carter Hart with a ton of potential to be great. The Canucks are a young scrappy team that made improvements in the offseason but are still a few years away from being very competitive and are coming off a 3-2 loss to Edmonton on Wednesday night. I’d slightly lean the Flyers in this game at home in their season debut but I’m staying off this game.

Ducks vs. Wild (10:00)

I’m expecting the Ducks to have a pretty bad season this year and was shocked by their 4-1 win over Winnipeg on Wednesday night, where they got outplayed by the Jets the whole game but the scoreboard is all that matters and they put the puck in the net. The Wild took a bit of a step back after their great year last season with the emergence of super star Kirill Kaprizov, who they locked up with a new contract. I think the Wild are the much better team here so my only bet of the day is a unit on the Minnesota ML.

Game Bets

1u Wild ML (-165)

Record (Regular Season): 7-7 (-4.4 units)
