I had another winning night on last night’s NHL slate going 4-2 for +1.32 units and the rest of my leans also went pretty well. Tonight there’s just a two game late slate.
Canucks vs. Jets (10:00)
The Canucks blow, they’re 5-10-2 on the season and come into this game with five straight losses and only two wins in their last eleven games. Their offense is the seventh worst in the NHL, averaging just 2.47 goals per game and their defense is even worse, allowing a sixth worst 3.41 goals per game. Last night the Jets lost 2-1 in a shootout in Edmonton in a game that Connor McDavid went coast to coast again to tie up at 1 in the last five minutes of regulation and a great performance. The Oilers rookie backup goaltender Stuart Skinner that made 44 saves against the Jets to steal away the game. Before that game, the Jets were on a three game win streak and they’re having a pretty good season at 9-3-4. They have the fifth best defense in the league, averaging 2.38 goals allowed per game with Connor Hellebuyck’s fantastic play in goal. Their offense isn’t the best but good enough, averaging 3 goals per game. With Hellebuyck playing last night, he gets the night off today, with Eric Comrie confirmed in goal. He hasn’t been bad this season at 3-1 with a 1.98 GAA and .926 save percentage. Even with him in goal and the Jets on the second leg of a back to back, I like them to win this game on the road and at the cheap price of -110, I’ll take Winnipeg here for half a unit.
Kraken vs. Avalanche (10:00)
Seattle sucks and they come into this game at home on a five game losing streak with only one win in their last eight games. They’re averaging just 2.75 goals per game and they’re allowing a second worst in the NHL 3.69 goals per game. Colorado, who haven’t performed at the level I would have expected them to coming into the season are on a three game winning streak, most recently a 4-2 win in Vancouver on Wednesday night. The Avs are scoring the third most goals per game in the NHL with an average of 3.54 goals per game but the reason they are losing games is that their defense is allowing an average of 3.15 goals per game (24th in the NHL). I like the Avs to win this game and will take the Avs ML and Avs TT over 3 for a half unit each.
.5u Jets ML (-110)
.5u Colorado ML (-160)
.5u Colorado TT over 3 (-165)
Record (Regular Season): 88-94-4 (-18.8 units)
