NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 6/22/22

In Game 3 in Tampa on Monday night, it was a must win for the Bolts and they delivered with a 6-2 win to turn it into a series at 2-1. I went 1-1, winning on the Lightning ML but losing the under to lose 0.7 units. Let’s bounce back tonight with a pivotal Game 4.

Game 4: Lightning vs. Avalanche (8:00)

The Lightning made this a series with a 6-2 dominant win in what was a must win Game 3 at home on Monday night to give the Avalanche their first road loss of the playoffs. The Bolts dominated the game despite being outshot 39-33 but Andrei Vasilevskiy bounced back from his horrible play in Game 2 with a great game that’s what we’ve come to expect from him in the playoffs. Darcy Kuemper got pulled after giving up five goals on 21 shots but I’d expect him to start again tonight. After Game 2, I thought this series was over for Tampa, but if Vasilevskiy plays the way he did in Game 3 this could become a competitive six or seven game series like I thought it would be going into the playoffs. I hedged big on my 5.5 games prop and now can lose 2.2 units tonight if the Lightning win what I expected to be a five game series after that 7-0 blowout in Game 2. I do still like flipping the switch on that though. I think Colorado is still the best team in the NHL this season and should bounce back with a win on the road tonight to put the back to back Cup Champs on the brink of elimination. I considered hedging out of that prop a bit more with the Lightning ML tonight but I think the Avs are gonna win this game so fuck it. In fact, I’m going to double down with a unit on the Avalanche ML. I took the under in Game 3, thinking that the only way Tampa would beat the Avs was if Vasilevskiy played incredible and they won a low scoring game with the Lightning defense limiting the firepower of Colorado’s offense. I was partially wrong there as the Bolts put six goals in the back of the net to put the game over the total themselves. I’m flipping the script here and will take the alternate over 5.5 for a unit. Go Avs Go!
