Week 8 2022- Bills vs. Packers – Game Reactions/Recap

Been waiting all day for Sunday night as the Bills hosted Aaron Rodgers and the Packers on Sunday Night Football in the first game that Rodgers has ever been a double digit dog in his career. The Packers covered but Buffalo was the dominant team with a ten point 27-17 victory.

Bills started the game with a 3 and out. Then after, on the Packers first drive, Aaron Rodgers and his offense moved down the field pretty well but the Bills stopped them on fourth down to get the ball back. On the Bills next drive, Devin Singletary ran right through the Packers lousy run defense quickly setting up the Bills in the Red Zone.  On 3rd and 14, Josh kept the ball himself and ran it right to inches from the goal line and capped the drive off throwing the first touchdown of the game to Dawson Knox in the corner of the end zone.

The defense forcing a three and out on the Packers set up the Bills with great field position as they capped off a four play 51 yard drive on a 26 yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs to make it 14-0 Buffalo as the second quarter started. With 6:15 left in the half on a beautiful catch by rookie receiver Romeo Doubs, that put the Packers on the board making it a 14-7 game. The Bills answered back though inside the two minute warning on a great drive, going 80 yards on eight plays finished off with a seven yard touchdown run by Isaiah McKenzie (live reaction from me on the TD later this week on my Tree House DDDoublegangerrr review). After forcing a quick three and out with a huge 53 yard pass to Stefon Diggs to put the Bills at the GB 29 yard line, the Bills finished the half with a 42 yard Tyler Bas field goal to make it 24-7 Bills at the half.

To open the second half, Green Bay made it 24-10 on a Mason Crosby field goal after the Packers drive stalled out with an offense pass interference penalty in the red zone. The Bills answered back with a field goal of their own to once again make it a three score game.

In the fourth quarter, Josh threw the first interception of the game but it didn’t take long for the Bills to get it back and on the first play following the INT, a tipped pass from Aaron Rodgers got picked off by Matt Milano to get the ball right back for Buffalo. The next drive though the Green Bay defense got another pick on Allen right on the goal line. Rodgers threw a 37 yard bomb to Samori Toure to make it a ten point game with 6:32 remaining in the game. Mason Crosby missed a 55 yard field goal wide left to end the game with a ten point Bills win, 27-17.

FINAL: Bills 27, Packers 17

Great win at home on Sunday Night Football. Grind of a game. Just disappointed we didn’t cover the spread by half point. The second half was so sloppy and not great to watch but we still come away with a ten point win so can’t complain too much.

6-1 on the season, the best record in the AFC!

GO BILLS!!
