Another good night for me on the NHL yesterday, going 4-2 to win 1.03 units for my fifth winning night on hockey in the last six days. Tonight we have just a quick four game slate. Let’s win again.
Maple Leafs vs. Islanders (7:00)
I broke this game down in depth on StatSalt. I like the Leafs to win here at home and will take them in regulation for half a unit. Additionally, I like the under and will take the alternate under 6 in this game for half a unit.
Rangers vs. Panthers (7:00)
Broke this game down as well on StatSalt, going in depth on this matchup. I like the Rangers and the over in this game and will take each for half a unit.
Stars vs. Sabres (8:30)
This is an interesting matchup cross conference as my Sabres go to Dallas to face off against the Stars. Buffalo’s won their last two games in a row, coming off a 6-3 win on Saturday early afternoon against the Ducks. That win improves us to 23-19-3 on the season. The offense has been one of the best in the NHL this year but the defense and the goaltending has really struggled. The Stars are coming off a 4-0 shutout against the Coyotes at home on Saturday, their second 4-0 shutout win in a row (and their third 4-0 shutout in their last four games). They lead the Western Conference with a 28-13-7 record and have played fantastic hockey on both ends of the ice. I’d lean the Stars win at home here tonight but I’m not betting against my team in this matchup. I do like the over though, which I will take for half a unit.
Flames vs. Blue Jackets (9:00)
This is a huge mismatch although I don’t really think the Flames are that great this season. Calgary is 22-16-9 on the season, coming off a 6-3 win over the Lightning on Saturday. They’ve been okay on both ends of the ice but nothing great. The Blue Jackets, who are coming off a 5-3 win against the Sharks on Saturday but have been horrendous this season. They’ve only won four of their last 19 games to drop to 14-30-2 on year. Columbus has been one of the worst teams in the NHL on both ends of the ice. In the first game between these teams on December 9th in Columbus, the Blue Jackets pulled off the upset at home, winning 3-1. I like the Flames to answer back with a win tonight at home. The moneyline and even the regulation lines are way too expensive for me here but I will take the Flames team total over 3.5 for half a unit.
