Profitable night for me on yesterday’s quick two game NHL slate, going 3-1 to win two units. Only one game tonight with the Jets and Blues facing off. Let’s win!!
Jets vs. Blues (8:00)
Both of these Central Division teams come into tonight’s game on losing streaks, but there’s a significant discrepency in talent between them. The Jets are in second place in the division, trailing the Stars by three points with a 31-19-1 record. They’re 17-8 at home but come into tonight’s game on three game losing streak after getting shut out 4-0 by the Flyers at home on Saturday (double loser for me). On the season, Winnipeg has been fantastic on both ends of the ice, especially defensively with one of the best goalies in the NHL in Connor Hellebuyck. The Blues have been extremely disappointing this season with a 23-24-3 record. They come into tonight’s game on a four game losing streak after a 4-2 loss in Colorado on Saturday. They’ve struggled on both ends of the ice all season, especially defensively. St. Louis has been generating just the second-fewest high danger shots in the league in their last ten games, so they aren’t even giving themselves good chances to score. The Jets have won both previous matchups against the Blues this season, shutting them out 4-0 at home on October 24th and then beating them 5-2 in St. Louis on December 8th. I give the Jets a huge edge in this game to get off their losing streak and get a win at home against a really bad Blues team. The moneyline at -225 is a bit too expensive, but I will take the Jets in regulation for 1.5 units tonight. I’d slightly lean the under but not enough to bet it.
