Great bounce back Sunday for me on the NHL Playoffs yesterday, going 6-5 to win 5.22 units, with a huge sweep for the Avs. Tonight we have just two games, let’s win again!
Game 5: Penguins vs. Flyers (7:00)
The Flyers have yet another chance now to complete this series and advance to the second round to meet the Hurricanes. The Penguins avoided the sweep in Game 4 on the road, taking it back to Pittsburgh tonight and forcing Game 5 with a 4-2 win. I didn’t think they played all that stellar in that game, with Artur Silovs getting the start in goal and making 28 saves on the 30 shots he saw, with a .933 save percentage. Way better effort than the Pens had getting dominated in Games 1 through 3. I hedged about half of my big series play on Game 4, which would have probably worked out better for me if the Flyers would’ve just swept this series. Now that we head to Game 5, I’m also not very confident in either of these teams getting it done tonight. If I didn’t have that series bet on the Pens, I’d be staying off the side of this game entirely. I’ll take another shot on a hedge here. I thought about taking the +1.5 puck line and the +1 puck line for a push on a goal loss for Philly to keep the series going without a loss, but I’ll just keep it simple with 4 units on the Flyers ML, essentially losing me just .24 units. Let’s just head to the second round in this one. I’d slightly lean the over in this elimination game, but don’t like it enough to bet on. I considered taking point props on Sid, Geno, and Porter Martone, but don’t really think any of them are worth it, so my only play on this game is my series hedge. If I didn’t have that series bet, I’d lay off this game entirely.
Game 4: Mammoth vs. Golden Knights (9:30)
This series has been pretty solid through the first three games with Mammoth taking a 2-1 series lead at home in Game 3 for the first NHL Playoffs game in the State of Utah. After splitting the first two games in Vegas to take home ice in the series, the Mammoth won 4-2 at home in Game 3, getting out to a 4-0 lead early and riding that with a fantastic 30 save night for Karel Vejmelka, with an impressive .938 save percentage as Utah got outshot 32-12. I like the Knights to even up the series here on the road and take home ice back, and I’ll take them for a unit. The total’s a complete toss up to me, so I’ll lay off that. I’ll also go back to a parlay on Jack Eichel, Mitch Marner, and Mark Stone to each get a point for half a unit.
