Sabres Playoffs vs. Bruins – Game 4: 4/26/26 – Game Reactions/Recap

Today in a matinee in Boston for Game 4, the Sabres dominated on the road to a 6-1 win, taking a commanding 3-1 series lead!

The Sabres finally scored first and early, with Payton Krebs getting the first of the game, 4:17 into the game, with a great play by Tage to take away the puck, then Tuch to set up Krebs to fire it in off a beautiful pass. Let’s fucking gooooo!! Josh Doan quickly made it 2-0 Sabres tipping in a setup to the crease by Ryan McLeod, just as a power play expired with 12:50 left in the first. Huge goal. Great start. Just 2:45 later, Zach Benson went to the net after a turnover caused by Josh Doan and on a second effort pushed it through Swayman’s five hole to make it 3-0. Incredible start! With 5:36 left in the first, Bowen Byram ripped in his third goal of the series, coming in from the outside of the circle and shelfing it. What a shot! What an impressive start for Buffalo today on both ends of the ice, outshooting the Bruins 19-5 on their way to a 4-0 lead through 20 minutes.

The players played well as the Bruins pressed harder in the second period, but we held them off, holding a 4-0 lead through the first two periods of this game.

Beck Malenstyn added to the Sabres lead with 14:52 left in the game, tipping in a shot by Jordan Greenway to make it 5-0. Just a minute and 24 seconds later, Alex Tuch added to the lead again, making it 6-0 as he went to the net to tip in a nice setup down low by Tage Thompson after the Bruins couldn’t clear the zone, chasing Jeremy Swayman out of the net. With 39.9 seconds left, with Sean Kuraly getting the Bruins on the board shorthanded, but at the end of the day, who cares. Just kind of shitty to not get Lyon the shut out.

FINAL: Sabres 6, Bruins 1

Sabres lead series 3-1

WHAT A WIN!! We dominated this game from start to finish, with 24 chances to Boston’s ten, putting the Bruins on the brink of elimination heading back to Buffalo on Tuesday for Game 5. We outshot the B’s 35-24, scoring early to get a fantastic first period lead and riding that to the win, while on the other end of the ice, Alex Lyon shut out the Bruins to just less than 40 seconds left in the game. What a great effort.

Let’s head to the second round with a win at home on Tuesday night and take this momentum from these two very good wins in Boston back home for Game 5!

Let’s Go Buffalo!
