NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 4/30/26

I limited my loss from my Penguins series play, not having an awful night in the NHL, going 4-3 to lose 0.84 units. Tonight we have two huge Game 6s, let’s win!

Game 6: Wild vs. Stars (7:30)

This series has been so awesome so far, with the Wild having a chance to close it out tonight, up 3-2 in the series after winning 4-2 on the road in Game 5 on Tuesday night in a tight game, holding off the Stars’ comeback effort before Kirill the Thrill capped it off with a hard working empty netter. In Game 1 on the road, the Wild dominated their way to a 6-1 win, then the Stars answered back with a much needed 4-2 win at home in Game 2. Game 3 was a grind, going to overtime with Wyatt Johnston winning it for Dallas on the road to take back home ice, on the power play in double overtime. Game 4 went to OT as well, as Matt Boldy was the hero for Minnesota late in the first overtime as they won 3-2 to tie it up. I’m already guaranteed to win one of my series bets for at least a 1.5 unit profit on the series to go either six or seven games, so I’ll take either result on that one. I do have two units on the Stars to win the series, and I think if Dallas finds a way to win this one, I’d favor them to win Game 7 at home. I’d lean Minnesota ends it though tonight at home in the State of Hockey. I’ll hedge that series bet out with 1.5 units on the Wild moneyline. If I didn’t have that series bet, I’d still be on Minnesota, but likely for either half a unit or a unit. I like the over again here too at 5.5, which has hit in four of the five games of this series, and especially being an elimination game on the road, I like it even better if the Wild can get a lead here. I’ll take the over for 2 units. I’m back to my player props here, and I’ll take one last swing on the big parlay of Kirill Kaprizov, Matt Boldy, Quinn Hughes, Mikko Rantanen, Jason Robertson, and Wyatt Johnston to each get a point for half a unit (I won’t be betting that if this goes to Game 7, since those always trend under). For half a unit each, I’ll also take Wyatt Johnston (who was held off the score sheet in Game 5) to get a point, and Quinn Hughes to get an assist.

Game 6: Ducks vs. Oilers (10:00)

The Ducks get a second chance to close out this series, now back home after losing 4-1 on the road in Edmonton in Game 5 on Thursday, as the Oilers extended the series. After Edmonton won Game 1 at home with a 4-3 on a late goal by Kasperi Kapanen, the Ducks have rattled off three straight wins, winning 6-4 on the road in Game 2, dominating in a 7-4 win at home in Game 3 with four third period goals, then winning 4-3 in overtime in Game 4 on Monday, coming back from an early 2-0 deficit to win on Ryan Poehling’s “controversial” (absolutely a goal, I don’t get the uproar on this one) OT winner. The Oilers came out hot in Game 5, scoring three goals in the first ten minutes of the game, making my over that I hammered look great, but then the action died out, as Edmonton stifled the Ducks, only allowing a goal for the first under to hit in this series. I think this is the only shot Anaheim has left to win this series and the pressure’s entirely on the Ducks after they were up 3-1. If they don’t win tonight, Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and the Oilers are absolutely advancing with a win at home in Game 7. This game’s a complete crap shoot though to me. I’d lean the Oilers win to force the two best words in sports, but it’s too close for me to bet them on the road. I’m right back on the over though and I’ll hammer it again for 3 units. . I also like a bunch of player props in this game, expecting a bunch of goals. I’ll take these all individually with a unit each on Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid to get over 1.5 points, and half a unit each Leo Carlsson, Cutter Gauthier, Troy Terry, and Jackson LaCombe (who already has a goal and seven assists this series) to each get a point.
