I went a perfect 4-0 on last night’s two NHL games for a a fantastic 4.93 unit profit! Let’s keep rolling with tonight’s two second round games!
Game 2: Hurricanes vs. Flyers (7:00)
Game 1 of this series on Saturday night was a snoozefest, as the Hurricanes dominated at home to a 3-0 shutout win, completely shutting down the Flyers offense. The Canes started hot, with Logan Stankoven scoring just 1:31 into the game and Jackson Blake giving them a 2-0 lead just 7:30 into the first. Stankoven added a second goal in the second period, putting the game out of reach for Philly. Carolina’s just so good defensively, limiting the Flyers to just nine shots on goal through 40 minutes. I fully expect the Canes to win this series, likely in a sweep or five games, and I like them to win again tonight at home. I’ll take Carolina in regulation for 1.5 units. I’m right back on the under as well, which I’ll also take for 1.5 units.
Game 1: Golden Knights vs. Ducks (9:30)
I broke this series down in depth, previewing it all on the blog yesterday. As I said in that blog, I don’t particularly care that the Ducks won all three regular season games between these teams, the Golden Knights were playing a completely different style of hockey at that point under Bruce Cassidy than they are now under Torts. I like Vegas to win this series, with the experience that this team has had in the playoffs and a way better defense than Anaheim (and the Oilers for that matter). I do think this series likely goes six games, and wouldn’t really be shocked if it goes to Game 7, but the Knights should win it. I’ll lay the -190 on Vegas to win the series for 1.5 units. I like the series to go over 5.5 games, but the price on that is too expensive to bet on at -215, so I’ll stay off it. Expecting the Golden Knights to win this series, I like them to win Game 1 at home tonight in the Fortress and I’ll take them for a unit. The Knights will also finally get original misfit “Wild Bill” Karlsson back in the lineup tonight for the first time since November, which should bolster their offense a bit with him healthy again. I like the over as well, expecting plenty of goals, which I’ll take for a unit too. I’ll take a bunch of player props in this game too. I’ll parlay Jack Eichel and Mitch Marner to each get a point for half a unit. I’ll also individually take Mark Stone, Leo Carlsson, Cutter Gauthier, and Troy Terry to each get a point for half a unit each and Jackson LaCombe to get an assist for half a unit.
