NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 10/20/26

I went 3-3 last night in the NHL, losing 0.56 units. Tonight we have a huge eleven game slate, let’s crush the board!

Canadiens vs. Sharks (7:00)

Not the best cross conference matchup here to start the night, but it should be fun. I’d lean the Habs win this one at home, especially with the Sharks in the second half of a back to back, coming off a 3-1 loss in Toronto last night. The price is just too expensive at -225. I do like the over though, which I’ll take for half a unit.

Devils vs. Avalanche (7:00)

I wouldn’t say this cross conference matchup is great. The Devils have played decent, but they’re inconsistent. The same could be said about the Avs lately, as they’e lost three of their last five games. I do like the Avalanche to bounce back tonight from yesterday’s loss in Philly and I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it.

Islanders vs. Ducks (7:00)

Interesting matchup in this cross conference game, but it isn’t a great matchup. I’d lean the Ducks end their three game losing streak on the road here, coming off a 5-2 loss against the Rangers last night, but not enough to bet it. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet that either, so I’ll lay off this one.

Capitals vs. Kings (7:00)

Huge mismatch here between these cross conference teams. The Caps have been fantastic, while the Kings are still looking for their first win of the season. I like Washington to win here at home and I’ll take them for a unit. I’d slightly lean the under, but not enough to bet it at 5.5.

Blue Jackets vs. Maple Leafs (7:00)

I don’t think either of these teams are all that great in this Eastern Conference matchup. I do think the Leafs are the better team and should win this one on the road, but in the second half of a back to back on the road after ending their three game losing streak with a 3-1 win at home against the Sharks yesterday, I don’t like them enough to bet it. I’d lean the over slightly, but not enough to bet that either. I’ll lay off this game completely.

Blues vs. Jets (8:00)

I’m not really sold on either of these Central Division teams. I’d give a slight edge to the Blues here at home, but not enough to bet them. I do like the over though at 5.5, which I’ll take for half a unit.

Stars vs. Bruins (8:00)

Great cross conference matchup here. Both of these teams have played very well lately. I’d lean the Stars win at home to end the Bruins’ five game win streak, but not enough to bet them, especially at -170. The line on this game should be like -125. I’d lan the under with two teams playing great defensively, but not enough to bet that either. I’ll stay off this game.

Oilers vs. Wild (9:00)

Very good Western Conference game between two solid teams. I’d lean the Oilers win here at home and the over, but this is way too much of a toss up of a game for me to bet on, with both teams playing very well on both ends of the ice. Best game on the slate.

Kraken vs. Red Wings (9:40)

Horrible cross conference matchup. I don’t think either of these teams are good whatsoever this season. I’d very slightly lean the Kraken win this game but not a chance in hell I even considered betting a side in this one. I do like the over though and I’ll take it for half a unit.

Canucks vs. Hurricanes (10:00)

Huge mismatch in this cross conference game. The Canucks are horrendous, and I like this spot even more for Carolina, likely coming into tonight pissed off after having a seven game win streak end with a 3-2 loss against the awful Calgary Flames on Sunday. The moneyline is way too expensive at -300ish, but I’ll take the Canes in regulation for 2 units for the bounce back. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it.

Golden Knights vs. Lightning (10:30)

Really solid cross conference game to end the night between these two playoff teams, that have both looked fantastic in their starts. I’d lean Vegas wins here at home in the fortress, but don’t really see any edge in betting them. I like the over though, with both offenses firing and I’ll take it for half a unit.
