NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 10/23/26

Lousy night for me yesterday in the NHL, going 5-9 on the big slate, losing 4.7 units. We have just two games tonight, so let’s bounce back before a big Saturday of hockey!

Blackhawks vs. Canadiens (8:00)

This is the lousy one of tonight’s two cross conference games. The Blackhawks are awful, and although the Habs have been a bit inconsistent and are now without Nick Suzuki for the next month, they’re still the way better team here. I like Montreal to win on the road tonight and I’ll take them for a unit tonight. I like the over as well, which I’ll take for half a unit.

Avalanche vs. Lightning (9:00)

Fantastic cross conference game here between two very good teams. The Avalanche have struggled a bit lately, coming off losses on the road to the Devils and Flyers, with just one win in their last four games. Meanwhile the Lightning have continued to look fantastic, on a three game win streak. I’d lean the Avs bounce back here at home, but not enough to bet the side in what’s pretty much a coin flip to me. I do like the over though, which I’ll take for half a unit.

Bets

1u Canadiens ML (-170)

.5u Canadiens/Blackhawks over 6.5 (-102)

.5u Avalanche/Lightning over 6.5 (+102)

Regular Season Record: 87-72 (+3.36 units)
