I swept the board on the NHL last night, going 3-0 pretty easily to win 3 units. Solid night. Today we have a huge twelve game slate, let’s crush it!

Capitals vs. Panthers (12:30)
Great game here to drop the puck on today’s between these two solid teams in the East. This game is pretty much a toss up to me. I’d give a very slight lean to the Capitals bouncing back at home from their last two losses at home to the Stars and Wild, but not enough to bet it. I do like the over though, which I’ll take for a unit. The lines for this game range from 5.5 at -142 to 6.5 at +110 from book to book, so I’ll just take the 6 to get a push at -110.
Predators vs. Blues (1:00)
Kind of a boring matchup between these two middle of the road teams in the Central Division. The Preds won the first game between them. 5-2 and I’d lean they win again here at home, but not enough to bet it. The total is a complete toss up so I’lll lay off this game entirely.
Kraken vs. Rangers (5:00)
This cross conference game isn’t great. I’d slightly lean the Kraken win it at home, but not enough to bet on it. I’d also lean the over, but I’m just gonna stay off this game.
Maple Leafs vs. Canadiens (7:00)
This should be a very fun Atlantic Division matchup between these two Original Six Canadian teams. I like the Habs to win this one on the road and I’ll take them for half a unit. I like the over better though, and I’ll take that for a unit.
Senators vs. Mammoth (7:00)
Great matchup here for this cross conference game. Both of these teams are playing quite well this season. I’d slightly lean the Mammoth win this one on the road, but not enough to bet it. I like the over, with both teams playing well offensively but not the best on the back end, and I’ll take it for half a unit.
Islanders vs. Devils (7:00)
This isn’t a great game here in the Metro. The Islanders are a middle of the road team to me without a very good offense. They won the first game between these teams, dominating their way to a 6-0 shutout win at home on Long Island in the first week of the season. I like Hellebuyck and the Devils, who have been fantastic to win here on the road and I’ll take them for a unit. I like the over as well at 5.5, even though my first read on this matchup was the under, and I’ll take it for half a unit.
Hurricanes vs. Blackhawks (8:00)
Horrendous cross conference matchup here. The Canes dominated the first game between these teams 5-2 on the road, and they should win this one even easier to complete the season sweep at home. The line at -440 is nuts, but I’ll take their puck line for 1.5 units. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
Stars vs. Sharks (8:00)
Pretty bad matchup here in the West, especially with the Sharks in the second half of a back to back. San Jose’s been underperforming my expectations. I like Dallas to bounce back here at home from Thursday’s 2-1 shootout look in Columbus and I’ll take them in regulation for a unit. They won the first game between these teams with a 5-0 shutout, and even though I don’t think it’s that big of a blowout, they should win relatively easily. I’d lean the under slightly, but not enough to touch it.
Wild vs. Lightning (8:00)
Awesome cross conference matchup here between two very good teams. The first game between these teams was a grind, with the Lightning winning 3-2 at home. I’d lean the Wild answer back here in the second half of a back to back, but not enough to bet it. I’d also lean the under, but the best move here is just laying off this game entirely.
Avalanche vs. Red Wings (9:00)
The Avalanche have been underperforming big time this year, but Detroit’s not a good team. Colorado should win here at home to bounce back from their last two losses, but the price is too expensive at -225. I’ve been fading the Red Wings and I’ll continue to do so here with a bit of caution and take the Avs in regulation for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to take it at 6.5.
Kings vs. Penguins (9:00)
Snoozefest for this cross conference game here. I’d lean the Kings win at home and I’d slightly lean the over, but I’m not touching this game.
Oilers vs. Canucks (10:00)
Huge mismatch in the Pacific to end the night. These teams split their first two games at the beginning of the year in a home and home, with the Canucks winning 6-5 on the road in OT and the Oilers answering back with a 9-7 blowout two days later in Vancouver. This should be an easy win for Edmonton at home and I’ll take their puck line for a unit. I like the over even better though, which I’ll take for 1.5 units.
