Brew Review – Boiler Brewing Co. Joy Ride

I’m having my last of this batch of Boiler stouts on today’s Brew Review, Joy Ride. This 13.9% double mashed extended boil Russian imperial stout was clearly inspired by Almond Joy, aged nearly 30 months in a single 8-Year Willett Wheated Bourbon barrel, conditioned toasted and raw coconut, toasted almonds and a triple dose of cacao nibs sourced from Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, and Ghana. On today’s Brew Review, I’m having Kilauea from Boiler Brewing Co. This 12.3% triple mashed extended boil Russian imperial stout was aged 2 years in a single Weller Full Proof Barrel Select cask and conditioned on copious amounts of toasted coconut, raw coconut, toasted hazelnuts, vanilla Beans, cacao nibs and Hawaiian Kona coffee beans. On today’s Friday Brew Review, I’m having yet another Boiler stout, Moran’s Double Barrel Salted Caramel Brownie. This heavy 16.9% double mashed Russian imperial stout aged nearly 30 months in a combo of Blanton’s and Eagle Rare Single Barrel Select Bourbon casks then conditioned on salted caramel, toasted pecans, and a triple dose of cacao nibs.
