RBC Canadian Open – Gambling Preview 2019

Hamilton Golf and Country Club – Hamilton, Ontario

Course Breakdown
Par 70, 6966 yds, 88 bunkers, 9 water hazards, less than driver course, both Par 5s should be reachable in 2 by most golfers, all the Par 3s are long and hard, most of the Par 4s are short (only one is longer than 450yds), narrow fairways with 3-4 inch rough, slower than average tiny POA greens with bentgrass, there has been a ton of rain here and in the forecast so it will be soft and should play WAY easier

Tournament Notes
• RBC Canadian Open has been held here in 2012 (Scott Piercy), 2006 (Jim Furyk) and 2003 (Bob Tway)
• A ton of trees were removed from here since 2012

Key Stats
Ballstriking, SG Approach, Driving Accuracy, Birdie+

Main proximity distance ranges: 125-175 yds.

Field
Really good top end (DJ, Rory, Brooks, Kuch, JT) but overall a lousy field

Defending Champion (Glen Abbey Golf Course): Dustin Johnson (-23)
Runner Up Last Year: Benny An, Whee Kim (-20)

One and Done: Webb Simpson
Alternate: Keegan Bradley

One and Done Considerations: Kuch, Webb, Serg, Stenny

Players

  • Kuch: 10500: +1800 – Course seems to map out perfectly for this asshole, great ballstriking, great on approach, having the best season of his career
  • Webb: 9700: +2000 – Good T2G, good Ballstriking, good Approach, T10 in DK scoring, 1st in proximity 125-150 yds, 1st in Par 4 efficiency 400-450 yds
  • Sergio: 9500: +2500 – 4th in Ballstriking, 3nd in SG Approach, 2rd in Opportunities Gained, plays short Par 4s excellently
  • Stenny: 9100: +3300 – Averaging over 5 SG on Approach over the last 5 events, accurate off the tee, hit a ton of fairways last week even though his OTT sucked, putting blows but he putts the least shitty on POA, the putter has to click eventually
  • Keegan: 8500: +6600 – Good at ballstriking, approach, plays short Par 4s well, should stay out of trouble with the driver out of his hand
  • Watney: 7500: +8000 – In last 12 rounds: 7th in SG Approach, 3rd in SG: T2G, 6th in GIR, good in proximity from 150-175 yds, plays Par 4s well

DraftKings/Betting Notes
• Definitely not playing Draftkings this week since I don’t really like anyone cheap
