Wyndham Championship – Gambling Preview 2019

Sedgefield Country Club (Ross Course) – Greensboro, NC

Course Breakdown

Par 70, 7127 yds, Donald Ross design, one of the easiest courses on tour, birdiefest, Bermuda grass throughout, both Par 5s are easily reachable (over 70 eagles on the 2 Par 5s last year), 8 of the 12 Par 4s are in 400-450 yds range, 2 Par 4s play over 500 yds, average sized tree lined fairways, just a few fairway bunkers, light rough, over 70% of drives hit the fairway, lot of less than driver off the tee, placement off the tee is more important than length, GIR from the fairway is over 80%, GIR from the rough is around 50% so thats a huge gap, quick undulated and sloped multi-tiered greens (back to front), shallow bunkers and water guarding the greens on a few holes

Tournament Notes

  • Final event of the regular PGA Tour season before the FedEx Cup playoffs (Top 125 make the Northern Trust next week)

Players

  • Reed: 9700: +1500 – Fatrick is trying to get on the President’s Cup team, his driving accuracy kinda sucks but he’s good on approach, probably worth the risk in this shitty field, got his first career here in 2013
  • Hovland: 9500: +2800 – T16 or better his last 3 starts, 6th in fairways gained, gains a ton of strokes off the tee
  • Chezzz: 9300: +4000 – Playing very well lately, 3rd in Par 4 efficiency 400-450 yds, 1st in proximity from 150-175 yds
  • Hadwin: 8500: +4500 – Good form, T11 or better in SG Approach, SG Putting, DK scoring, Birdie+ %, Opportunities Gained over last 12 rounds

DraftKings/Betting Notes

I don’t love the board this week on both the betting market and DK so I’ll likely take the whole week off leading up to the FedEx Cup.
