Profitable night on the NHL Playoffs yesterday to bounce back, going 5-4 to win 1.08 units. Let’s keep rolling on three big Game 3s tonight!
Game 3: Bruins vs. Sabres (7:00)
This is such a huge game for my Sabres tonight after how awful we played through the first two games in Buffalo to start this series. We struggled and are lucky this series is tied 1-1. We got off to slow starts both games, and although in Game 1 we pulled off the comeback in electric fashion, Game 2 was brutal. We lost 4-2 with that game being way worse than that score. The Sabres haven’t been able to score till late in the third periods of these games, digging holes that they have to get into. Boston and Swayman have dominated the series, and the Sabres haven’t been great on the back end, with UPL playing horrendous in Game 2, getting pulled after the fourth goal after the first goal was soft and the second was embarrassing as fuck. Alex Lyon will start tonight thankfully. The Sabres power play hasn’t scored in over a month, which enables the Bruins to take penalties without even caring. It’s bad. I don’t feel great about this series. If Buffalo wasn’t my team I’d be all over the Bruins in this one, but I can’t bet against my team in these playoffs. The total’s a complete toss up to me. I’ll lay off this game entirely.
Game 3: Senators vs. Hurricanes (7:30)
This series has been a grind through the first two games in Carolina. The Hurricanes are so good defensively and play a boring style of hockey, but it leads to wins, as they’re up 2-0 in the series now. After winning a close Game 1 with a 2-0 shutout, they followed it up winning 3-2 in double overtime (twice, after the first game winner got pulled off the board. I think if Ottawa wins a game in this series it’s going to be this one at home, otherwise the series is over. The side’s a toss up to me. I like the under again though and I’ll take it for 1.5 units.
Game 3: Kings vs. Avalanche (10:00)
The Avalanche lead this series 2-0 after winning both slow, kind of boring games at home, both 2-1, needing overtime to win Game 2 on Tuesday night. I still expect the Avs to either sweep this series or win in five, so I’ll keep backing them. I’ll take Colorado for a unit. I also like the under here too, which I’ll also take for a unit. I considered going back to my player props, but they’re just not worth it at the prices.
