NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 4/29/26

Somehow with three goals in the first ten minutes in the Oilers game, that game didn’t hit the over, so I went 6-9 to lose 6.18 units last night on the NHL. Let’s bounce back with some three games tonight!

Game 5: Lightning vs. Canadiens (7:00)

This Atlantic Division series has been spectacular, with both teams trading wins on the road and at home to have a tied series going back to Tampa for Game 6 tonight. Every single game has been tight, with the first three going to overtime and the Lightning tying up the series in Game 4 late in the third period to win 3-2 on Brandon Hagel’s second goal in a row with less than five minutes left in regulation. These games have all been complete toss ups. I’d slightly lean the Bolts take their first series lead here tonight at home, but don’t like it enough to bet on it. I’d lean the over here again, but not enough to bet that either. I’ll just stick with player props in this one. I’ll parlay Nikita Kucherov, Jake Guentzel, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Brandon Hagel and Juraj Slafkovsky to each get a point for half a unit, and I’ll individually take Slafkovsky to get over 0.5 point for half a unit since that’s far too cheap.

Game 6: Flyers vs. Penguins (7:30)

I cannot get this fucking series right for the life of me. I’ve lost every single game. Philly now has their third chance to close out this series, back home after blowing the chance of a sweep in Games 4 and 5, with the Flyers now leading at a dangerous 3-2 in the series. This now makes me quite nervous. I’ll lose 4.8 units on the Flyers winning the series from my pre-series bet on the Pens and then bet them in Games 1-3. After horrendous efforts by Pittsburgh in Games 1 through 3, I hedged with about half of that series play on the Flyers. The Penguins they played way better in Game 4 with a 4-2 win on the road, then grinded out a 3-2 win in a very tight game at home when I fully hedged with a huge four unit bet on the Flyers in Game 5. After the Penguins went up 2-0 early in the second period, Philly battled back to tie it up, and just 2:06 later, veteran legend Kris Letang scored the eventual game winner to win it 3-2 and take the series back to Philadelphia. All the pressure now is on the Flyers to close this out at home, and I’ll try one more time here to cut down the loss and hedge with 3 units on the Flyers. I wouldn’t touch this game if I didn’t have that series bet. I’d slightly lean the over, with this yet again being an elimination game, but I’m not touching it. I considered betting Crosby and Malkin to each get a point, but I don’t think that’s worth it either. I wouldn’t touch this game at all if I wasn’t hedging.

Game 5: Golden Knights vs. Mammoth (10:00)

This series has been awesome, tied up heading back to the Fortress for Game 5 in Vegas tonight. After splitting the first two games in Vegas to take home ice in the series, the Mammoth won 4-2 at home in Game 3, getting out to a 4-0 lead early and riding that with a fantastic 30 save night for Karel Vejmelka, with an impressive .938 save percentage as Utah got outshot 32-12. The Golden Knights answered back in Game 5, blowing an early 3-0 lead with four straight goals for the Mammoth at home, then winning it late, with just 52 seconds left in the first overtime with one of the original misfits, Shea Theodore scoring the game winner to tie the series with a 5-4 win on the road for Vegas. I like the Knights to win at home here and I’ll take them for half a unit. I also like the over at 5.5, which I’ll take for a unit. I’ll go back to my parlay on Jack Eichel, Mark Store, and Mitch Marner to each get a point as well for half a unit.
