NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 10/22/26

Winning night for me on Brady Tkachuk’s return to Ottawa yesterday, going 1-1 to win 0.44 units. I’ll take it. Huge twelve game NHL slate, let’s crush it.

Bruins vs. Predators (7:00)

This isn’t a great cross conference matchup to start the night. The Bruins have been impressively good to start the season. I don’t think there’s anything special about the Preds, they’re just a middle of the road team. I love Boston to bounce back here after Tuesday’s 3-2 overtime loss in Dallas and I’ll take them for 1.5 units at home. I like the over as well, which I’ll take for half a unit.

Maple Leafs vs. Rangers (7:00)

This should be a fun matchup with the way these teams have started their years. Toronto’s the better team, but even after losing Shesterkin the Rangers are actually playing solid hockey. I’d lean the Leafs win at home, but didn’t even consider betting a side in this one. It’s a complete coin flip to me. I do like the over though, which I’ll take for a unit.

Senators vs. Sharks (7:00)

This will be a pretty fun game tonight. I’d lean the Sens win at home coming off their big 5-1 win last night with Brady coming back to town. From a betting standpoint though, I don’t love it with them in the second half of a back to back and the Sharks coming off a big overtime win in Montreal on Tuesday night. San Jose’s got a ton of young talent and should be playing better than they are. I’ll lay off the side in this one. I’d slightly lean the over, but not enough to bet it.

Devils vs. Ducks (7:00)

This should be a solid matchup, but I wouldn’t really say this is a great game. Both of these teams have been pretty inconsistent with both struggling a bit on the back end. I just don’t understand the -220 line on the Devils here. They should win at home, but it’s way too expensive, they should be like -145. I’ll take a half unit shot on the Ducks at +180 to end a three game losing streak. That seems like solid value to me. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it at 6.5.

Penguins vs. Panthers (7:00)

Kind of an interesting matchup here. The Penguins have really been struggling lately, with just one win in their last eight games, while the Panthers have been pretty solid, but they’re coming off getting shit pumped 5-1 last night in Brady’s return to Ottawa. I’d lean Florida bounces back here on the road, but not enough to bet on them in the second half of a back to back. I do love the over though, so I’ll take that for a unit.

Islanders vs. Kings (7:30)

This is a real boring cross conference game to me. I’m not completely sold on the Isles, but they have been winning. The Kings are horrendous and I don’t see them winning two in a row after their impressive 5-2 win in DC on Tuesday for their first win of the season. I haven’t really been on the Islanders much, but even money’s a great price here, which I’ll take a unit shot on with New York at home on Long Island. I’d lean the under but not enough to bet it.

Blues vs. Golden Knights (8:00)

Not the best matchup in the West here. The Blues are a completely average team to me, while I think the Golden Knights are very good. Especially with Vegas coming off a 6-2 loss at home to the Lightning on Tuesday, I like my Knights to win here on the road. I’ll take them for 1.5 units. I love the over just as much, and I’ll take that for a unit at even money.

Stars vs. Jets (8:00)

I wouldn’t really say this is a great game. I like the Stars to win here at home to extend their three game win streak but the price is a bit too high at -205. I’ll be a bit more cautious here and take Dallas in regulation for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it at 5.5.

Flames vs. Wild (9:00)

Horrible mismatch here. The Flames blow, while the Wild are a very good team. This should be an easy road win for Minnesota and I’ll take them in regulation for a unit. I like the over too, which I’ll take for half a unit.

Oilers vs. Hurricanes (9:00)

Phenomenal cross conference matchup here that very well could be a preview of this year’s Stanley Cup Final, and probably the front runner at this point of the season. The Oilers are off to their best start in the McDavid era with Mike Babcock behind the bench and the Canes look just as good as they did when they won the Cup last year. I’d lean Edmonton wins here tonight at home and I’d lean the over as well, but not enough to bet on either. This will be a great one to watch in later night hockey.

Kraken vs. Mammoth (10:00)

Kind of a big mismatch to me. The Kraken have been pretty decent and better than I expected to start their year 6-3-1, but Utah’s the way better team here. I’ll take the Mammoth for a unit. I like the over as well, which I’ll take for half a unit.

Canucks vs. Red Wings (10:00)

Horrendous cross conference game to end the night. Both of these teams stink. I’d lean Detroit wins here on the road, but I’m not betting them. I do like the over a bit though, which I’ll take for half a unit.
