I didn’t do too bad on the first two day of the NHL Playoffs, going 10-16 over the weekend to lose 2.78 units, bouncing back from a bad Saturday with a really solid Sunday. Let’s win on tonight’s games with series continuing!
Game 2: Penguins vs. Flyers (7:00)
As I said in my blog breaking down this series, I don’t see a way the Flyers win it. Game 1 on Saturday night was a boring, low event grind, with Philly taking the lead halfway through the third period and getting a 3-2 win on the road. The Penguins looked like shit in that game, and they know they have to bounce back at home tonight. I like them to and I’ll take them for 2 units. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it. I’ll also parlay Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin (who had a goal and an assist in their Game 1 loss) to each get a point for half a unit.
Game 2: Hurricanes vs. Senators (7:30)
Game 1 of this series to start the playoffs on Saturday afternoon was a complete grind, as both teams played fantastic defensively, with the Hurricanes winning 2-0 at home in a tight game. I still like the Canes to win the series, and like them to win at home again tonight. I’ll take them for half a unit. I really like the under after seeing Game 1, with neither team getting many chances to score and I’ll take it for 1.5 units at + money. With so few scoring chances, I’ll lay off all the player props in this game.
Game 2: Stars vs. Stars (9:30)
While I wasn’t surprised by the Wild winning Game 1 of this series on the road, I was shocked that it was a completely blowout. Minnesota played fantastic hockey on both ends of the ice on their way to a 6-1 win on the road to get the series started. I still like this series to go long, to six or seven games, and still think the Stars are the deeper team. They have to win at home tonight or this series is over. I’ll take them for a unit. I like the over as well, which I’ll take for half a unit. I cleaned up on player props in Game 1, a Mikko Rantanen point short of a six leg +808 parlay. I’ll parlay Mikko Rantanen, Jason Robertson, Kirill Kaprizov, Matt Boldy, Quinn Hughes, and Wyatt Johnston to each get a point for .4 units, then I’ll additionally parlay Rantanan, Robertson, Kaprizov, and Boldy to each get a point for another half a unit, and for a half unit each I’ll individually take Wyatt Johnston to get a point and Quinn Hughes to get an assist.
Game 1: Oilers vs. Ducks (10:00)
