Sabres Playoffs vs. Bruins – Game 6: 5/1/26 – Game Reactions/Recap

Last night the Sabres went on the road in Boston and knocked off the Bruins, winning a series for the first time since 2007 with a 4-1 win in Game 6.

The Sabres started off hot again tonight, with Alex Tuch lighting the lamp on the first shot of the game, just 3:25 into the first period, perfectly tipping in a pass through the crease by Rasmus Dahlin to put Buffalo up 1-0 early. Huge goal to start the game. Getting the lead early is huge. With 7:34 left in the first period, Mattias Samuelsson ripped it from the point past Swayman to add to the Sabres lead, making it 2-0. Let’s bury these fuckers. Very good first period for the Sabres, as we were absolutely the better team through that first 20 minutes.

The Sabres couldn’t clear the puck out of the zone, and 1:54 into the second period the Bruins got on the board with David Pastrnak beating Lyon on a shot entirely caused by bad defense. We didn’t look great in the second period with Boston clearly looking way better than us. Pretty ugly.

5:58 into the third after a dirty hit on Josh Doan, he was still able to dump the puck back to Zach Benson in the slot, who gave us a HUGE 3-1 lead. It was real tense during that third period and with 3:20 left in regulation, Josh Norris capped off the series with an empty netter, putting the game and series out of reach, making it 4-1 and putting the game and series out of reach.

FINAL: Sabres 4, Bruins 1

Sabres win series 4-2

This was a great game. Tight throughout, but we took that great first period start but it wore on with Boston playing desperate again through the second and third periods. What a series. Onto either the Lightning or the Habs.

Let’s Go Buffalo!!
